Online animation helps pupils to gain an understanding that we need an adequate and varied diet to keep us healthy. Science lesson also provides limited sample questions at the end of the topic. HEALTHY EATINGExplains that if we want to stay healthy, we should eat a varied and balanced diet.Explains it is important to drink plenty of water and take enough rest and exercise. Explains that Carbohydrates are starchy foods that give us energy, fibre, calcium and B vitamins. Explains we must eat at least 5 portions of carbohydrates throughout the day. Explains that Proteins help our body to grow and repair itself. Explains we should eat two to three portions of proteins every day. Explains that Fats give us energy and provide a fatty layer under the skin to keep us warm. Explains we should NOT have more than three small portions a day. Explains that Fruits and vegetables provide us with vitamins and fibre that keeps us healthy. Explains we should eat at least five fruits and vegetables every day. Explains that Dairy products contain protein, calcium and vitamins to keep our bones and teeth healthy. Explains we should eat three servings of these every day.
